Kary's Cajun Roux

Roux is a basic ingredient in Cajun cooking, and it gives a special flavor and body to many Louisiana dishes including gumbo, etouffee, stews, gravies and more.
Kary's roux is made in Ville Platte La. right in the heart of Cajun Country. It's made the homemade way using vegetable oil and flour for that down home flavor.
Kary makes both a light & dark roux. And we offer them both.
The light roux is for use in etouffees, or blond gumbo as it's called in these parts. The dark roux is more full bodied and robust, and it's a popular choice for Cajun gumbos and stews.
